Today was an historic day for Nordic Combined! While the results this weekend in Oslo weren't what they have been all season for either Billy or Johnny history was made in the overall World Cup. Billy secured 6th place in the overall World Cup Sprint standings and even more impressive he finished 3rd in the overall World Cup standings behind Petter Tande and Ronny Ackermann who were 2nd and 1st respectively. This is the best finish ever for the US Nordic Combined Team. Congrats to Billy! Johnny finished the year in 19th in overall World Cup standings.
We are wrapping up here in Oslo and heading home tomorrow. It has been a great season for both Johnny and Billy. We will be in Park City next week for US National Championships and then I know we are all looking forward to getting home and relaxing before starting preparing for next season.
On the WCB side, they competed in Eisenerz, AUT yesterday and today. Alex Glueck was the best US skier on Saturday in 18th and Alex Miller finished 26th. Taylor Fletcher and Nick Hendrickson got their first taste of WCB competitions in Europe. Nick and Taylor will return home tomorrow and will be in PC for US Nationals. The rest of the WCB crew will go to the Olympic venue in Pragelato next weekend for the WCB final. We will have to wait until next weekend to find the overall World Ranking List but it looks like Eric Camerota will be qualified for WCA next year.
